Speaking on the launch, Incrementum Advisory Group's Director Cain Liddle, shared his excitement around the opportunities the Tasmania Academy of Leadership and Sport would provide to Tasmanian students.

"It's a deeply fulfilling experience to take a brand-new concept to a client and then watch it come to life," Liddle said

"We are extremely grateful to the Tasmania Devils, Tasmania Jack Jumpers, Hobart Hurricanes, Netball Tasmania and TasTAFE for trusting us with the responsibility to ride shotgun on the Tasmania Academy of Leadership and Sport, a first of its kind in Australia.

"Having all major sports in one state work collaboratively and unite under one brand to provide education and career pathways for young people should make all Tasmanians very proud."

Speaking at the official launch of the program, the recently appointed General Manager - Education Jesse O'Hara spoke on the many benefits the Tasmania Academy of Leadership and Sport would have for students.

“Today is the first step in harnessing the collective power of sport to create engaging, meaningful and place-based education pathways for Tasmania’s future sports industry workforce," O'Hara said

"Bringing together Tasmania’s leading brands into a unified program, in collaboration with TasTAFE, creates a learning environment unlike anything that has been delivered in Australia.

"Following the public announcement, we have fielded a large volume of interest from local students who are keen to be involved in this program.

“Students will gain the hands-on skills, confidence and networks to become the team behind the team, creating a local nursery for off-field and off-court talent for the State."

The program will launch with delivery in Hobart in February 2025 and will expand to the north and north-west of Tasmania in 2026.
